Merit Fitness 715T Plus Treadmill Review: Our Verdict
Despite the low price tag, the machine is strong and sturdy. Assembly is very straight forward and shouldn’t take any longer than half an hour. Much of the machine is preassembled in the box, so you merely need to screw in a few bolts and connect the handles.
As for the performance, the Merit Fitness 715T performs well, but you may be left desiring the bells and whistles of a more expensive machine. The speed ranges from 0-10 mph with 0.5 intervals, and there is an emergency off clip that can be attached to your clothing. There is also a pulse indicator but this is difficult to use while running as it requires you to place your thumb on the console which isn’t easy if you are running at speed.
One of the features you’re likely to miss the most is an automicatic incline, but you’d have to be willing to spend at least $200 more for the pleasure. The manual incline does its job well though and is in 3 stages (zero, five, and somewhere inbwteen).
As for the build and construction of te machine, the 715T Plus seems much larger and sturdier than you might anticipate for the money. The machine feels more than stable enough in use and also has a handy water bottle on eash side, as well as room to hold a Kindle or book to read while you are in motion.
Conclusion: The console is somewhat lacking feature-wise but this is not surprising considering it has such a low price point. If you want to get into shape and don’t have a ton of money to spend, the Merit Fitness 715t Plus is a good option; just don’t expect much in the way of bells and whistles.

Merit Fitness 715T Plus Treadmill: Customer Reviews
“If you want to get in shape, and don’t have a ton of money to spend on a treadmill, you should buy this one. In fact, if you do have a lot of money to spend on a machine, I would still recommend this one. It’s a good, solid, heavy treadmill. Get something else with the extra money you saved.” – E.Russo
“If you are looking for a working treadmill with just the basics, this is an ideal find!” – kitten03
“Overall, this is good for my needs as I am a beginning runner. I would have liked to be able to adjust the incline while running instead of ending my session in order to change it but it’s okay without it” – EJFen
