The Schwinn 840 treadmill packs in a 2.5 horse power continuous duty motor, a dual-screen console, integrated telemetric heart rate programning, and a cushioned running surface.

The speed range of the machine ranges from 0.5 mph – 10 mph so may suit a family of walkers and runners. The running surface measures 20 by 55 inches – plenty of space for people of all builds and sizes.

It certainly isn’t short of workout options, with 16 workout programs in total. These include size course profiles, quick start, calorie goal, and several customized workouts.

Several convenient and perky features are included too, such as a magazine rack, an integrated fan, transport wheels, water bottle holder, and Softdrop technology for folding the machine for easy storage.

The Schwinn 840 treadmill is that it is a highly professional piece of exercising equipment with plenty of functions you’d expect to see in a high-end treadmill.

Assembling the machine is very easy, and can be done in as little as 15 minutes. All neccessary tools are provided and most of the machine is assembled in the box. Just a few bolts need to be tightened and a few screws replaced in order to assemble the machine and connect the arms and handlebars to the console.

The treadmill has multiple course options meaning that beginners, intermediates and advanced users can all get a good workout. For serious athletes, the treadmill comes with a heart rate monitor and contains instructions on how to achieve 65%, 75%, and 85% heart-rates. The grip heart rate monitor may not be as effective as a chest heart rate monitor, but it is a very nice inclusion.

If you have a set routine you like to perform, you can program it into the console and save it for another time. Routines can be based on a certain sex or weight to show you how many calories have been burned. If you like, the program can be converted to Metric very easily. Thankfully, the machine runs nice and quietly so it won’t disturb other members of the household.
